Decent Work and Economic Growth

Decent Work and Economic Growth

Decent Work and Economic Growth is the 8th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) established by the United Nations in 2015. It focuses on promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. This goal is critical to eradicating poverty, reducing inequalities, and fostering global economic stability.

Sustainable Economic Growth: Achieve a minimum of 7% GDP growth per year in the least developed countries.

Productive Employment: Create jobs that offer fair income, security in the workplace, social protection, and prospects for personal development.

Youth Employment: Substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education, or training.

Equal Opportunities: Promote equal pay for work of equal value and eliminate discrimination in employment.

Safe Work Environments: Protect labor rights and promote safe and secure working conditions for all workers, particularly women, migrants, and those in precarious employment.
